Dean is making hard decisions at Pelco

Swinging the ax and cutting costs right and left. Say goodbye to the in-house travel department. Sayonara to the Orangeburg plant. Re-org at HQ. Phew!

Of course this sort of thing was expected – and I’d say much more is on the way. But I’m mostly interested in his planned overhaul of the product portfolio and roadmap – but no idea when it will start.

    Add to this the new ‘cost-cutting’ department formed two weeks ago… You’d think this was case study right out of business school!! The over-spending of cash is what gave this company the reputation it has.
    Big companies focus on EBIT and Pelco’s is probably not up to snuff given the valuation it was awarded, so you are likely correct that this is just the beginning… Right after their big expensive sales kickoff in Maui… I look for Pelco to try to ‘open’ up their products, and quickly.

    Try calling Pelco after business hours – automated attendant! I hear the product support team can’t go in the field without management approval. 60 engineers canned in one shot. Manufacturing probably moving to China I guess the Pelco culture is dead.
