The Edge wasn’t edgy enough for this vendor. It is reaching further.

God, I suck at puns at 6 in the morning. My friends at Edge Integration decided to change the company’s name. I think its symbolic. The new name is Reach Systems. Edge denotes the outer rim of the known region. To reach, is to extend farther. And that’s the way these guys think. Glenn Forrester, the founder of Reach Systems is one of the most forward thinking while down-to-earth guys in the industry. He knows where the industry is going yet he still knows how to make a product people need today. His partner is industry veteran Dennis Raefield. Those the kinds of fellows you want to do business with – the kind who understand your business and can anticipate your needs.

In the case of Reach Systems, the solution is a remotely managed appliance suitable for managing doors, cameras, and a variety of sensors. Put one of these babies in your chain store or restaurant and monitor everything going on. The products go beyond that, of course, and the sales model is more creative and flexible. But still, it is elegant, technically and conceptually.
