VidSys Gasses Up With Some Moto-fuel
PSIM (physical security information management) vendor, VidSys, announced its series B financing of $10M led by Motorola Ventures and joined by existing investor IDG Ventures Boston. VidSys is already a fixture in major urban deployments – Chicago, CalTrans, Metrol Washington Airports, etc – but now will have the means to flesh out its sales and marketing team and grow its channels network.
CEO Chuck Teubner has the same fire in his eyes now that he had when he grew and exited e-Security to Novell last year. And Cisco alumnus, Tony Lapolito, continually shines as one of the most creative strategic minds in security marketing. I expect VidSys to become a dominant brand in video surveillance and situation management which, with the right partners, could give Cisco, Tyco, Honeywell, and all the rest a real run for their money.
